Acute GVHD typically presents within 100 days post-transplant with maculopapular rash, hepatitis, and diarrhea, while chronic GVHD resembles autoimmune disorders with fibrosis and organ dysfunction. The condition significantly increases morbidity and mortality in transplant recipients.
