Burns and Skin Injury conditions
Deep partial-thickness burn (Epidermis and reticular dermis)Deep partial-thickness burns affect the epidermis and reticular dermis, causing blistering and potential scarring due to damage extending into deeper skin layers.Deeper injury burn (Epidermis, dermis, underlying tissue)Deeper injury burns affect the epidermis, dermis, and underlying tissue, often causing full-thickness damage with risk of scarring and impaired sensation.Full-thickness burn (Epidermis and full-thickness dermis)Full-thickness burn involving the epidermis and entire dermis causes white or charred skin, loss of sensation, and requires surgical intervention for healing.SunburnSunburn is skin inflammation caused by excessive ultraviolet radiation exposure, leading to redness, pain, swelling, and sometimes blistering of the affected skin.Superficial burn (Epidermis only)Superficial burns affect only the epidermis, causing redness and pain without blistering, typically healing within a week without scarring.Superficial partial-thickness burn (Epidermis and papillary dermis)Superficial partial-thickness burns affect the epidermis and papillary dermis, causing blistering and pain with preserved skin appendages aiding healing.
