Pulmonary EmboliPulmonary emboli involve blockage of pulmonary arteries by blood clots, causing sudden chest pain, shortness of breath, and hypoxemia. Diagnosis often includes D-dimer and imaging.Pulmonary Emboli (Air)Air pulmonary emboli occur when air bubbles enter the pulmonary circulation, causing vascular obstruction and sudden respiratory distress.Pulmonary Emboli (Amniotic Fluid)Pulmonary emboli from amniotic fluid occur when fetal material enters maternal circulation causing sudden respiratory distress, hypoxia, and coagulopathy during labor or delivery.Pulmonary Emboli (Fat)Fat pulmonary emboli occur after long bone fractures, causing respiratory distress and petechial rash due to fat globules obstructing lung vessels.Pulmonary HypertensionPulmonary Hypertension is elevated pulmonary artery pressure causing right heart strain, often diagnosed by echocardiogram and confirmed with right heart catheterization.
